Beach Tips for Zadar

Try the Island Beaches

The most beautiful beaches in the Zadar region are on the islands. Saharun on Dugi Otok is worth the ferry trip, and Ugljan has several lovely coves reachable by a quick 25-minute crossing.

Best Time to Swim

The Adriatic is warmest from June to September (22-26 degrees C). May and October are still pleasant at 18-20 degrees C for those who enjoy cooler water.

Therapeutic Mud at Nin

The mud flats near Queen's Beach in Nin have been used for centuries for their mineral-rich properties. Locals still apply the dark mud as a natural skin treatment.

Arrive Early in Summer

In peak season (July-August), popular beaches like Kolovare and Borik fill up by mid-morning. Arrive early or visit after 4pm for a quieter experience.
